On Wednesday, October 9th the Wellsboro Lady Hornets soccer team hosted the North Penn-Mansfield Lady Tigers on Senior night.

The Lady Hornets got ahead early off a corner kick, Kate Bryant dribbles into the box, centers the ball, then Lily Wagner to clean up finishers her own volley.

Next, with 10:26 before half, Bryant again rolls the ball into the corner of the box and has a beautiful set to Cassidy Mitchell to put Wellsboro up 2-0.

Just two minutes into the second half, the Lady Hornets put up their third unanswered goal right after a great save from Lady Tiger keeper Emaleigh D’Andrea. Elle Boyce sets the ball back out to the top of the box to Madelynn Losinger who chips the keeper. What a shot!

With just over 25 minutes left in regulation, the Lady Tigers found their way into the back of the net. Free kick from the midfield, bobbled by the keeper, defense tries to clear it, but Lady Tiger Iris Irwin intercepts, then finishes. Goal, Tigers!

At an even 18 minutes left Wellsboro had the finishing score of the night. Emily Benjamin sends a free kick high into the box and Luna Moyer catches the ball in the bounce and hits upper ninety. At the end of regulation the Lady Hornets led, claiming the victory 4-1.

Wellsboro will be traveling to Loyalsock on October 12th, while North Penn-Mansfield travels to Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on the 14th.
